Two-lines tag in plant PID

Users of AutoCAD Plant 3D know that tags assigned to pipelines and equipment can be customized in a straightforward way. However, many users have noticed that these tags are displayed in a single line. This raises the question: How can we configure them to appear in two lines?

In this example, our task is to display the valve tag HA-101 in two separate lines. At first glance, the task seems simple, since we know that the tag consists of two components: Code and Number .

It is important to note that this combination is transferred into the Annotation Label as a single entity called a tag.

This approach is useful because, when we change the position of the tag, both elements move together and remain properly centered.

So, how can we create a two-line tag?

  1. Select the group of objects whose tag you want to modify.

  2. Choose the tag format that you want to edit.

  6. Close the editor by clicking Close Block Editor, and make sure to save your changes.

  7. Exit the Project Setup by clicking OK, then test the tag by placing a valve on the line. This is the result:

With this procedure, the tag will now display in two lines, keeping both elements properly aligned and easier to read.
